- What happens to expired secrets?
- Think of it like it is a self-destructing message. If you have a Sharefox account, you can choose to keep track of the labels of the secrets you've shared, but the secret contents themselves will always be permanently destroyed after expiring.
- Who can access my data?
- The secrets are fully encrypted in our database (the data is encrypted in motion and at rest). Only you and the recipient can access the secret contents without anyone eavesdropping.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No, this is not mandatory. You can try Sharefox without creating an account.
- How can this be a free service?
- We want to make it accessible for everyone to share sensitive information securely. That's why Sharefox is free for everyone to use. With the paid Sharefox Pro version, we earn money to keep the free version up and running. We will never show advertisements or share your data with third parties.
- Can I also upload files?
- Yes, this is possible! However, you need a Sharefox Pro subscription to use this functionality.
- Can I retrieve a secret that already has been expired?
- No. By the time you look at a secret, it's already fully destroyed.
